Helena and I first met in Tokyo, she was there in on a business trip and I was 9 months into my around the world adventure. It was actually both of our last nights in the city and she took a chance on going to get a drink with me even though the main thought running through her head was, "this guy is a traveller who has no idea what he wants to do with his life, this will never work."

Well... until she met me and realized there were many more layers to this onion than just a love of travel! We squeezed in another date the next morning wandering around Tokyo before we had a mad dash to catch her train to the airport (her first of many mad airport dashes in this relationship).

From there, we stayed in touch, texting regularly as I continued touring around Japan, then onto South America and Greece for the next couple months. At this point my sabbatical was coming to an end and she convinced me to spend the last month in Indonesia and volunteered to be my tour guide and show me around her beautiful country.

And so began the longest 3rd date in recorded human history. 1 month in Indonesia turned into 20 months and counting. Since then, we've travelled to 15 different countries together, co-founded a company together, I learned a new language and spent countless hours getting to know each others friends and families. On a trip back to the US last Spring I surprised her with a proposal and now we're getting married in Bali this summer! We're so excited to share this special day with all of you!
